Perhaps you've never seen the excellent television series Lost, or maybe you've recently become hooked. Either way, this article was written with the intention to give a brief description of all the key characters. Unless otherwise indicated, each character was a survivor of the crash of Flight 815.

Jack - A doctor, Jack traveled to Australia to collect the body of his father to take him back to the States for burial. Since he is a doctor among the survivors, Jack has become the de facto leader of the group. Stubborn, but always tries to do what he thinks is right. It has an attraction for Kate.

John Locke - traveled to Australia to go for a walk in the Outback. It was rejected because he was in a wheelchair. It is still unknown how he came to be in a wheelchair, as shown in flashbacks to walk without problems. After crashing on the island, Locke discovered he could walk again. Skilled at hunting and tracking, Locke has natural leadership talents. This has made him and Jack to face several times.

Sawyer - A con man, Sawyer was in Australia to kill the man responsible for the death of their parents. He hates himself and wants all others hate it. Very charismatic. He is constantly getting shot, tortured, or falls on the head. It has an attraction for Kate.

Kate - was brought back to the U.S. by a federal agent, when the plane crashed. She was wanted for the murder of his father, an abusive drunk who beat his mother. He has had other brushes with the law, but much of it remains unexplained. He is torn between her feelings for Jack and Sawyer. Strong survival instincts.

Hugo Hurley - Sympathetic overweight peers who won the lottery and is worth millions of dollars. Relaxed attitude and often serves as comic relief. He spent time in a mental institution. Has an imaginary friend named Dave. I was working on a relationship with Libby before his death.

Charlie - The creative force behind the famous band once known as the drive shaft. Addicted to heroin. He traveled to Australia to see his brother, former lead singer of the band. Attracted to Claire. He hates Locke and would like nothing better to do it to look like a fool. It has proven more than capable of violence.

Claire - she was pregnant when the plane crashed. It has since given birth to a boy named Aaron. A native of Australia. She was flying to America to put her baby up for adoption. She and her baby were captured by the Others, but she managed to escape.

Sayid - Former member of the Iraqi Republican Guard. Qualified tortured and interrogated. Shannon was involved with before his death.

Sun - wife of Jin. Korea. I was thinking of leaving her husband before the plane crash. It was recently revealed that she is pregnant, although her husband was going to be sterile. It often tends to her garden and looks very smooth, but recently shot and killed one of the Others. Father was a crime boss.

Jin - Sun husband. Korea from a poor fishing family. Sun fell in love and became an enforcer for his father. This work became very cold and distant. On the island, as a fisherman puts his skills to good use. He has reconciled with his wife.

Michael - had traveled to Australia to take his son, Walt, back home after the death of the mother of Walt. An artist who also participated in construction. He built a boat to try to escape the island, but was destroyed by the Others. After his son was kidnapped, Michael seemed to go a little crazy. Finally killed Ana Lucia and Libby, in a desperate attempt to get her son. Walt was returned and the two were given a boat and directions to the nearest continent. They have not been seen since.

Walt - young boy. The son of Michael. He goes to live with Michael after the death of his mother. It has strange powers to manipulate reality. Captured by the Others. At the end of the second season, he returned to his father and the couple is allowed to leave the island.

Shannon - darling of a wealthy family. When his father died, she was forced to fend for itself. I was in love with his half-brother, Boone. He was involved with Sayid, shortly before his death. Fatally shot by Ana Lucia.

Rose - The wife of Bernard. Dying of cancer, but the cancer went into remission on the island. Very simple.

Bernard - husband of Rose. Australia had been a healer. He does not want to leave the island, fearing that his wife's cancer will return.

Henry Gale - seems to be the leader of the Others, despite claiming that the answers to another person. Very intelligent and well read. Jack and Locke played against each other. Has a tumor in the spine and has captured Jack so you can remove it. It aims to be one of the good.

Ana Lucia - Former LAPD. She resigned from the force after killing a man who had shot him (who was pregnant at the time and lost the baby). Hard and no nonsense. Attracted to Jack and slept with Sawyer. Shannon accidentally killed after confusing it with one of the Others. Michael shot and killed by guards while she was Henry Gale.

Libby - Claimed to be a psychiatrist, but spent time in the same institution as Hurley. A widower, gave her husband's boat to Desmond during a chance meeting. It was the development of a romance with Hurley. Accidentally shot and killed by Michael when he went to Henry Gale to escape.

Mr. Eko - A Nigerian military leader launched a holy man. Locke Eko confronted on several occasions. Physically, the most imposing of the survivors. He stood a strange black smoke that appeared a couple of times. When the smoke took the form of his dead brother and demanded they repent of their sins Eko, Eko refused. Smoke it up and killed him.

Boone - brother of Shannon. He had traveled to Australia to bring back home. Boone died in the first season of injuries sustained when he fell from a cliff wall. I was in love with Shannon.
