TV Censorship - What are our children watching

There is no way to escape - when we made the decision to have children, we encourage all high-sounding ideas about what will be allowed to do. Most of us, as responsible adults, admit that children should be allowed to watch too much television and are encouraged to enjoy more outdoor activities, as an alternative. If that is not possible, then most of us prefer that our children are in contact with other children somehow sociable and not sticking to the box of glasses for most of the afternoon and evening.

All these ideas are always issued by the high road in search of peace and tranquility at the time the babies reach the age of seven - old enough to make our lives life, screaming to hell. How easy it is to change the box and sit in front of a nice long menu of cartoons or something meaningless garbage Moreover, while we continue with the dinner or the extra work brought home from the office, or what is an urgent matter that demands attention.

The fact is, however, that the trash without an active sense could easily end up in about ten minutes and will be replaced by something totally inappropriate. Before you know it, your seven or eight years old, is to listen to the agonies of a teenager trying to wean cocaine, or see someone being disemboweled, or a thousand other things depressing completely inadequate to a small child.

Very few of us are model parents, but everyone is able to take a couple of minutes to ensure that our children are watching a suitable material. Check the TV guide before allowing their children to see what is on offer, check from time to time to ensure that the channel has not changed, check the recommended age for viewing DVDs and videos before allowing their children to see them.

Children digest the information in its purest form, and many children take what you see on TV as gospel, which is why so many programs are marked as suitable for viewing under parental supervision only. These guidelines are there for a reason. Children may interpret the information in a completely different from an adult and take into account all kinds of insecurities as a result of what they have seen. Remember when you turned to the junior side in front of the television two hours of TV entertainment segment monitoring.
